MFRA was the “Good News Story” at the MSCA Meeting, April 1, 2009
MFRA is proud of our value added service to clients during these difficult economic times. While new development opportunities are limited, our trusted relationships, quality work and sensitivity to client needs has awarded us with stronger relationships and expanded market shares.
MFRA has established itself as a prominent multi-disciplinary engineering firm in the Twin City area by our work on projects such as Excelsior and Grand, Arbor Lakes, Woodbury’s City Walk, Water Park of America, Grand Casino Hinckley and Wal-Mart’s, plus many other projects.
At MFRA, we adopted the motto “When the going gets tough. The tough innovate.” During the last year we are pleased to be partners with many innovative projects, such as:
BMW of Minnetonka by Twin Cities Imports. The cost to develop this site was extensive due to past dumping practices that created poor soils conditions and methane. MFRA was able design the project to overcome these hurdles by using steel pilings and an innovative pavement section, to support the utilities and parking lot, and a ventilation system to release the methane. MFRA also championed the approval of $620,000 of environmental grant money for the project. Our partnership in the project provided innovation and funding that contributed in the city decision to amend their ordinance to support the project.
The West End by Duke Realty, a 35-acre retail and office redevelopment center. Our innovative storm water management provides underground infiltration for the entire site by using techniques that included landscaping and engineered soils.
Other innovative projects include:
· University of St. Thomas Athletic complex by OPUS
· The Ellipse on Excelsior apartment building by Bader Development
· Melrose Institute (Park Nicolett) by United Properties
· Hampton Inn on the Jostens site by United Properties
· Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club, EPIC Center development in Sartell
· Red Rock Territory, a 350-acre master plan community by Stonehenge USA
As a multi-disciplined company MFRA has been able to position itself to remain healthy in this economy and become even stronger when the economy rebounds. We appreciate the support of our development partners during these times and look forward to continue providing value added services to all of their projects.
